It is hard to imagine Drive Angry sustaining this level of trash-tastic hysterical hokum, and I regret to inform you that it does not, even with all of the above in 3-D.

Can't get enough Robert Rodriguez? Tarantino not turning out flicks fast enough? Latest Rob Zombie joint not out yet? You have to check this out, this is a movie lovers film, pure popcorn indulgence, nonstop action, cool story line, and just crazy entertaining and fun. This is one of my favorite films made in the last few years, it harkens back to the crazy over the top fun action films of the late 70's early 80's, there are some really awesome kills and just insane over the top scenes that you want to see over and over. For me this is definitely one for the collection not just a rental, it's a really cool flick.

Ahmed Al Kiremli Opinion - ahmedalkiremli.com One of the worst moviesthat I ever seen for Nicolas Cage beside the other bad movies (Seasonof the Witch, The Bad Lieutenant, The Wicker Man and World TradeCenter), Nicolas Cage is a very interesting actor and known for so manygood movies but recently his level is going down and continues to godown more and more, he had not less than 4-5 bad movies in the last 10movies.The story just makes no scenes at all and the director just made itworse, nothing is interesting about the movie except some few good 3Daction scenes, I still don't know how I finished the movie till the endand I think that happened because I just wondered that I might be goingto see a good end to write about but then realized that there's nothinginteresting to write about so just wanted to warn everybody to avoidwasting their money and time. The acting performance was so silly andunder the level, still don't know how and why Nicolas Cage is selectingsuch movies, Its way lower than any commercial movie.Ahmed Al Kiremli Rating 2/10 Is It In Ahmed Al Kiremli's Must WatchList? No Is It In Ahmed Al Kiremli's Great Movies List? No

A movie that could have left skid marks on our psyche - in 3-D no less - instead drives us to distraction with verbose line readings that kill momentum worse than a police flashlight shining through a parked windshield.

This review is from: Drive Angry (DVD) I have found anything that Nicholas Cage is in is never never boring. He really plays this one to the core. I have watched this one three times and still find it very interesting. Don't care a lot of the sex parts of the movie. It's a get down bad and dirty movie. No child should ever watch this one. This is close to the version Ghost Rider. And I loved that movie even more. Good verses evil.

Some films do as the title suggests or give a good indication as whatto expect but Drive Angry fails to deliver. Even with a budget of $50million, every scene with cars sees them driving at moderately fastspeeds but never reaches the insanity of Bad Boys 2 or The Rock.Although after all this time, I think I should know what to expect fromNicolas Cage today.Whether or not the actor is out of his financial troubles or not, thefilms keep on coming and while Drive Angry is not his worst one todate, it is by no means his best. He does give a fairly decentperformance as John Milton, a man who escaped from hell to save hisgranddaughter but lacks any energy. In Season of the Witch he plays asoldier drained by endless war and here again he looks tired andbeaten. This can work sometimes but we never feel any sympathy for himreally because the film never tries. It doesn't help that the villainis no more than a crazed country lunatic in charge of a cult. What makes the film entertaining is William Fichtner who always gives asolid performance at the very least. Here is steals the entire filmwhen he is on screen as The Accountant. Amber Heard pales in comparisonto Fichtner but still does a good job even with a weak script and willundoubtedly move on to greater things in the future. The action itself is fun but never really escalates. The way the filmis clearly shot for 3D makes the action entertaining but since Cage'scharacter is shot repeatedly and never dies takes something away fromthe film. There are also a few CGI moments that fail to impress, particularly one towards the end. As a film not to be taken seriously, its OK and passes as anentertaining action film while watching it but in retrospect, the filmlacks any substance or reason to care for what is going on. For a filmthat is meant to be about the driving but instead the characters stopat the sight of a roadblock and cannot deliver on one decent car chase, that should probably tell you enough.

This review is from: Drive Angry (DVD) I got to this movie when I typed into the amazon browser module DRIVE ANGRY 3D - I was convinced I'm buying 3D movie, and they sent me regular DVD format, I didn't even opened it yet, it's not even Bluray format. BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU BUY FROM THEM !!!

While serious-minded critics are still trying to figure out what 3D can do to enhance the cinematic experience, director Patrick Lussier is having a blast with the as-of-now gratuitously revived technology.

My title says it all....Cage ought to hang his head really low for agreeing to do this one..It stunk....the trick is if you don't have a plot or just want to tentalize...then make a film like this. Hang down your head Tom Dull....oh wait...Cage!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!

I wasn't expecting too much from "Drive Angry 3D" so I guess I cannotsay I felt disappointed after the movie. With all it's high speedbravura, use of three dimensional technology, and overall edgy, grittyfeel, it really is quite typical Nick Cage movie after all. It isclearly obvious that from pretty long time, what Cage is doing, iscashing in, and one of his roles that I can say stands out from hisrecent work was his take on Bad Lieutenant. What really brought me toDA was it's R rating. I knew that I was in for some rather lightmaterial, in terms of plot and characters development, but at the sametime with some blood and cursing and all the stuff appropriate for thiskind of flick, I hoped it should provide fun time at the movies. Whenthere is no real plot to look after, characters are the key factor.Sexy Amber Heard makes for sufficient female side kick for our mainhero, but for those who will go for it with hope to get some naked T&A,not this time folks. One guy who easily stole the whole show was fellowplayed by William Fichtner. He is one of those actors who are aroundfor some time, and you are always happy to see him on the screen, andhere he really delivers. It was also really nice to see David Morse, even in a smaller role. So to sum it up, Drive Angry isn't anythingspecial, even for mediocre standards of actioners, but it is watchableand if you are willing to check your brains at the ticket booth, youcan give it a go.

It seems as if "film buffs" are getting dumber and dumber nowadays. What are you guys wanting out of a movie called "Drive Angry 3D" and with Nic Cage??? Bergman??? I myself like a good, well written movie as much as anyone. But I like to pop a top and kick back and watch fun movies, and that's where Drive Angry 3D comes in. Definitely what I needed after a long day at work. This film has tonnes of cliches, is impossibly stupid and is over the top and trashy, but that was the point. I must say there was not a dull moment!!! There's tonnes of gore too- including Nic Cage walking around with a nasty looking shot eye for a good portion of the movie too. As for the 3D... well, if you've seen My Bloody Valentine 3D, Patrick Lussier's previous movie, you know what to expect- 3D gore, weapons flying in your face and this is no exception. There's crowbars, explosions, bullets, Cage pointing guns in your face, etc. This movie pulls a ton of punches, and you will just love it. As for the acting... let's face it, Nic was born for the action, tough guy roles. He is a total badass and it's just awesome to watch. William Fichter is class too, he is total suave and stylish fun to watch. Heard is sexy and is a great actress too.Overall, if you can go in expecting total cheese, you will love this movie, and make no mistake, this is a total must see. I had a total blast, and I predict you will too!

Oh ya, and Nicholas Cage is the arsenal weilding grampy. (Hope Cage will soon resolve his IRS-tax problems and get back to making blockbusters...and not this odd stuff!) Here the cars are the stars! If you like American muscle cars: mute this flick (except from the road scenes that showcase the motors' roar), and read a book...

Nicolas Cage takes a lot of flack for his acting choices. The man islikely the most inconsistent actor in the entirety of Hollywood, jumping from headlining critically acclaimed films like Leaving LasVegas and Adaptation to headlining putrid, bottom of the barrel filmslike Next and The Wicker Man. But going through his filmography, sorting the good from the bad, and the bad from the unwatchable, youwill find a good handful of films that are just meant to be silly andfun. This is where Drive Angry 3D resides.John Milton (Cage) did some bad things, and was sent to hell as aresult. After the death of his daughter and the kidnapping of hisgranddaughter at the hands of crazy cult leader Jonah King (BillyBurke), Milton escapes hell and becomes a man on a mission. As he huntsand searches for King, he brings the gorgeous Piper (Amber Heard) alongfor the ride to assist him in his quest.Drive Angry 3D was unfairly trampled by critics when it was releasedjust under a month ago, and it is a real shame it never was able tofind a true audience. Just looking at the trailer should have suggestedexactly what kind of film you were in for, and this one delivers at allturns. Right after its gory and explosion-filled opening, you get oneridiculous set piece after the next, moving at a near delirious speedthrough some of the most over-the-top sequences of the last decade. There is an almost automatic comparison to Grindhouse and morespecifically, Death Proof, and it is well warranted. There is next tonothing to take seriously in Drive Angry 3D. There is no thinkinginvolved. It was never meant to look or act like an Oscar-winner. Allit wants is for you to strap in and enjoy the ride.A lot of the fun and enjoyment comes from the 3D more than I would liketo admit. The film is of the rare breed of actually being filmed in 3Das opposed to being post-converted, and you can tell in just how muchstronger and better it looks as a result. There are no real dull ordark moments, and only a few instances where it feels like the gimmickit actually is. In most cases, it just looks natural and stylish  anatural progression for the grindhouse, B-movie genre. And though thespecial effects do look cheesy, they fit in almost perfectly with thevisual motif and landscape the 3D provides for the film. But it is notjust the elements that pop out and on the screen that are impressive. Aflashback scene, with Cage flashing back in the foreground and thescene playing out in the background is of particular note, because itactually does something unique outside of what we have come to expectfrom the 3D effects Hollywood continues to pump out. It adds to themedium, and suggests that we may see some creativity out of this formatyet. The rest of the fun, when not laughing near maniacally at all thebrutal carnage going on (the effects of "The Godkiller" are ofparticular note), comes from the goofy dialogue and delivery from thecast. They may look stone faced, but you can tell they are having agreat time acting out this preposterous storyline. Burke and WilliamFichtner (who plays the Devil's right hand man, The Accountant) seem tobe having the most fun hamming it up, and doling out ridiculousone-liners. Just watching them react and play their roles sodeliciously over-the-top is more than enough reason to see the film onits own. Heard plays the drop-dead gorgeous blonde she has perfectedover the years to a tee, adding in a bad ass rebellious attitude forgood measure. While she does not wear those fantastic booty shorts forthe entirety of the film, rest assured that you will not complain abouther other outfit choices (if of course, that is a selling point to yourwatching the film).Surprisingly, Cage plays Milton cool and monotone. He does the mostoutrageous things in the movie, and gets many of the great one-liners,but he seems very mellowed out in every instance. He seems to not behis over-the-top, absurdist self, which is saying a lot since he's madea habit in the last few years of making each character more unusuallyeccentric than the last (see The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call NewOrleans and Kick-Ass for proof). He seems perfectly comfortable playinghis character as the closest thing to the straight man, while everyoneelse acts over-the-top.What I disliked about the film was that it stumbles as it nears thefinish line. Late in the film, David Morse is introduced merely as ameans for the plot to advance to the ludicrous ending. And all hischaracter does is stall the film, and make it run longer than it needsto. While his entrance sheds a bit of light on Milton as a character,by that point it is too little, too late. As stated previously, this isnot the kind of film that benefits from characterization andexplanation. It revels in saying and doing irrational and silly things. Why try to turn the movie around on its audience, who had been eatingup every word and action until that point? It just makes the film runlonger, and takes away some of the fun.Granted you know what you are getting into, Drive Angry 3D is aridiculously over-the-top and incredibly fun diversion. This not aserious movie in the least, and may even offend some people with howoutrageous it is. But if you can handle the heat, this underrated gemmay prove we cannot give up on Nicolas Cage just yet.8/10.(This review also appeared on http://www.geekspeakmagazine.com).

Nothing but poor script and acting that they attempted to cover up with excessive profanity, violence and nudity. Can't believe Cage actually was in this turd.

A vengeful father escapes from hell and chases after the men who killedhis daughter and kidnapped his granddaughter.Oh man what the hell is wrong with Nicolas Cage. what kind of crapmovies he is opting to do. why? what? i mean he is crazy or desperatelyneeds money so is doing these bad movies. i am being that harsh andrude just because the first movie of the year 2011 was also by himentitled SEASON OF THE WITCH which was one of the worst movies ever.this one is too even with all the blood, action and slight gore. thatone lacked these things but this one even being filled with thesethings just felt flat.i was looking forward to bad ass entertaining movie that will revivethe kind of image of Cage. but this one failed to do that. the movie isfilled with action scenes as in the car chasing and car crashing, explosions etc but they are so many that your brain want's to burst.the movie has some average visual effects. 3D was just to make moneyout of this lifeless movie or else no use of that technology here.there is sex in it too, lol.the large part of the movie was just plain bore and torture, nothinggoes in it. i mean that sucks. action scenes towards the end are verypoorly done. they didn't moved me even a bit. that sudden input of somany of them towards the end feels a complete crap thing i mean thewhole movie is empty an then they put all these scenes.Nicolas in this avatar was not appealing and this movie he didn't didwell. he could be better. William Fichtner was god, funny and someoneto look for. Amber Heard as this abusing strong girl was OK.direction of this movie was very poor. story and the concept of comingout of hell for revenge was awesome i liked it. screenplay is acomplete trash. editing sucks. so written wise and technically thismovie is a bad one.i would say AVOID THIS MOVIE.

OK, well, by know you should know that this is not going to havestellar performances, a captivating script or break new ground instorytelling. But then again, I'd be somewhat let down it that was thecase. It never tries to be any of those things, nor should it. It isloud, fast paced, loaded with over the top violence and explosions andsexy women. Drive Angry feels a lot like Shoot 'em Up or Crank, butmanages to differentiate itself from it's predecessors. The actors allmanage to bring characters to life enough to suit the story, but I mustsay that William Fichtner was the most entertaining to watch throughthe film. The only downside was that the villain throughout the movieseemed to be a little too over the top for my liking, but didn't reallydetract too much from the overall movie. The story is petty standardfor this type of film, but it manages to serve the movie well enough.Pretty standard action fare, but a fun enough ride if you just turn offyour rational mind and go along with it.

Aspires to be absolute trash, but of the exhilarating sort. Unfortunately, it misses by a mile, winding up oddly dull and ponderous.
