A movie for all Golf lovers and all Adam Sandler fans!
This was a really cool movie.It is definitely for all golf lovers and allAdam Sandler fans.Hilarious, good story line and it keeps youinterested.Nomatter how many times you watch it you still think it's cool.I definitelyrecommend this to everyone.10/10 Adam Sandler movies forevery'all!

Happy Gilmore is so funny!
This is a really funny movie. Happy Gilmore is a guy who wants to pay off a debt so his Granny can keep her house. He is a really talented golfer, but he doesn't know how talented he is, until he has the help of a professional golfer, who is later killed, while trying to teach Happy to putt. Then Happy goes on to win a golf tournament, beating all the pros, with some very funny happenings on the way! Adam Sandler is perfect for the part of Gilmore, which he plays to perfection. This is a great movie and well worth having on video at home.

Sandler's best
This is Adam Sandler's best movie. I laughed every two seconds when I firstsaw it. My favourite scene is when he gets in the fight with Bob Barker (theprice is wrong, bitch). This is one of my favourite movies of alltime.10/10

The best golf comedy since "Caddyshack"
SPOILERA disgruntled hockey player not picked for a pro team finds out hisgrandma's house is being repossesed by the IRS. So he meets up with anex-pro golfer, Chubbs Peterson (Carl Weathers), so he can learn to playgolffor money towards buying his grandma's house back. On the course, hemeets abully, Shooter McGavin (Christopher McDonald), who wants to be the bestandnot for Happy, Adam Sandler, to steal his popularity. In the end, Chubbsgets killed and Happy, barely, gets his grandma's houseback.Overall, this is a great golf comedy. I liked it better than Caddyshackbecause it has a better plot and a better story.The only reason I liked Caddyshack, and I did, was because Chevy ChaseandRodney Dangerfield (two of my favorite actors) are in it.8.5* out of 10

When I first saw Happy Gilmore I could not believe my own eyes, howcouldone make such a funny movie. But the miracle went on, the second timeit waseven funnier. And today as I've seen it more often than I care torememberit isstill the funniest motion picture I have ever seen. Sandler is himselfexcellentbut great however he is greater by far is McDonald. The funniest movie ever made!!!
There are some funny movies out there, namely Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood, Friday, the Nutty Professor, the Waterboy, etc. But this is by far the funniest movie I have ever seen in my entire life. This is the only movie that can make me crack up no matter how blue I am!!! Adam Sandler is so funny in this movie, just the way how wild he is! The funniest part is when he hits the man and the lady with the golf ball the first time he ever tries the game. Another funny scene is when he fights Bob Barker. Or when he knocks the clown's nose off. I don't know. There are too many funny scenes in this movie to list! Not too many people are crazy about this movie and I really can't understand why. Even if you are in the worst of moods or something, and you don't feel like laughing, the movie still has a great plot and stylish directing. You just simply have to either see this movie or, if you were smart, BUY IT! Let me just say again that this is the funniest movie EVER MADE!!!

Loved every second!!
Adam Sandler is our household's favourite comedy actor after this moviewasseen. He's brilliant in all the roles we've seen but none more so than theshort tempered ice hockey wannabe golfer.We just creased up over even the smaller jokes planted in the film. Greatfight scene between Happy and "that Bob Barker".Not a fan of golf but would definitely be converted if there were any withGilmore's attitude!!Top film 10 out of 10.

STILL IS JUST A FUN FLICK
HAPPY GILMOREOne of the all time classics that people either love or hate, I fall into the love category. This film is just straight fun to me, no brain power and interesting situations and characters make for a good time. Sure the humor is juvenile and some times stupid but that is the point. It is a straight forward comedy and for some reason I love it. Plus you have to love anything that says "it's all in the hips".Happy Gilmore is a hockey player want to be who doesn't have all the skills necessary but has a great slap shot. One day he finds out that his grandmother is loosing her house and there is nothing really he can do about it. That is until he discovers golf after making a bet with some guys and drives the ball farther than either of them can. After one of them makes a simple little comment he decides to try his hand at golf, well once he learns that he can make the "big bucks". So off Happy goes trying to win as much money as possible to save his grandmothers house.This still to this day is one of my favorite movies because, well I don't know why but I love it for some reason. Could be that I am a huge hockey fan or maybe because Bob Barker beats up Adam Sandler but I love it. It could of course also be that Christopher McDonald is perfect as Shooter and Ben Stiller is an excellent villain here as well, maybe it is all of that. Any way this movie is not for everybody but for those who get it they will love it.Written by Sandler and Tim Herlihy and directed by Dennis Dugan "Happy Gilmore" is one of those flicks that is just dumb fun. If you like it you like it if you don't you don't, it doesn't really matter, for those who do love it. Sandler was at an all time best here in fact I think his earlier films are his best ones, well at least the most fun. McDonald is perfect as Shooter like I mentioned earlier, I have always liked that kind of jerk villain in a movie. Ben Stiller is as well great here as the guy at the nursing home that is supposed to take care of Happy's grandmother. Of course Carl Weathers is brilliant as well as is Allen Covert, he may just be a scene stealer and he really doesn't have any lines.I am sure if you are no Sandler fan you are reading this rolling your eyes but I think you have it in you to like this flick. Any one who goes into this with the brain off and realizes that this film is just dumb fun then I think they will enjoy it. Sure it may not be a perfect movie but it is a fun one. I say give it a try if you never have and if you have give it one more. You may just end up at least being entertained by it.

What happens when you mix hockey and golf? You get a happy Gilmore!
I am disappointed in all those "over 45 male" voters who rate thismovie under "5". I give it a strong "8", and a "9.5" for pureentertainment. I've been playing golf for about 40 years, and I justlove the spoof this film perpetrates.Story; Happy Gilmore is a hockey player who wants to earn money to gethis grandmother's house back. As movers are doing their thing, the golfclubs and balls spill on the lawn, Happy hits one a mile and theycomment that he could earn money! That gets his attention.He has an unusual style, hits it like a hockey player with a runningstart, occasionally misses it completely. Gets into a local tourney andqualifies for the tour!His protagonist is the best pro golfer, "Shooter" expertly played byChristopher McDonald. Happy (Adam Sandler) destroys all golftraditions. In his first tourney he gets a caddy who he tackles becausehe thinks the caddy wants to steal his clubs. In a later pro-am tourneyhe is paired with Bob Barker, they get into a great fight on thecourse, Barker ends up putting his lights out.Happy's love interest is Virginia (Julie Bowen, who plays on the TVshow "ed")who is publicist for the tour. She helps to calm Happy down.The climax comes in the season ending championship, Shooter has boughtgrandma's house out of spite, agrees to give it to her if Happy winsthe championship. Happy agrees to pull out of golf if he loses. Happy goes to his new friend, old golf pro Chubbs (Carl Weathers) toactually teach him how to play well, instead of just relying on drivingthe green of par-4s to score well. Chubbs had lost his right hand to agator, which re-surfaces later and leads to Chubbs' fall from thesecond story window. Happy gets grandma's house back, he and Virginia end up together,Shooter fails to win the championship one more time. This is not highart, doesn't even have a good moral to it. What I like is the inventiveways they debunk some of the myths of golf and have fun with that. Willremain one of my favorite movies just for a fun time.Cameo appearances are also made by Lee Trevino and Ben Stiller, whoplays an unscrupulous male nurse in grandma's nursing home.

Boring, stupid, pretentious, not very funny.
One of the worst comedies of the decade. Not much to laugh at, although Ihave to admit that it's probably the best Adam Sandler film so far. It isgetting really OLD watching Sandler play the same stupid, grown up littlechild, in all of his movies. You want comedy...see Meatballs, Stripes,Animal House or Caddy Shack...something with a little joie de vivre. Thisiscrap!

Great film, but why isn't there a widescreen edition?
This is one of the funniest films I've seen. I first saw this film as a kid, didn't really understood most of the jokes, I just laughed because whenever happy would through the club and hit someone. This is the early golden days of the work of Adam Sandler. This film and Billy Madison pretty much mad Adam Sandler. I'm pretty sure he would agree. Because I hate the show Saturday night live. Really if you haven't seen this film, you don't know comedy. So I'm not gonna waste my time writing about what the movie is about. It is about golf, that's pretty much what you should. As I watch this film on TV I noticed they restored deleted scenes. Why aren't they in this DVD? I mean I don't get it. Why isn't there a special edition version? That's what I hate. So don't waste your time buying this when they repeatably show this movie on

great movie
This is definitely the best movie I have ever seen. If you didn't laughatone time or another during this movie you really have something wrong withyou. I think Sandler has to be the funniest person I have ever seen. Iwould recommend this movie to anybody who likes comedy movies. Also checkout "Bulletproof" another awesome movie with Sandler.

I'm not a golf fan but I love this movie
Adam Sandler can overact sometimes but this was a perfect movie to do it. Waterboy was funny but Happy Gilmore is his funniest work. The cameos by the other celebrities and golf pros make this movie work. It makes the movie all the funnier. The actor who plays "Shooter" made this movie also. Without his animation and him being such a good bad guy, Happy Gilmore wouldn't have been as sucessful as it was.

not as good as his other films
i have watched many sandler movies and have listened to his standup. out of all of that this is his worst film. it doesn't make alot of sense and has very few jokes in it. if someone has ever listened to his cds you know what im talking about. sandler is know for goofy comedy, but not many of his movies are actually funny. i dont see how people like this film.

Unhappy
I had a few people tell me this was a great movie. I rented it the otherdayand found it to be repulsive. even as a comedy, it was completely formulaicand most of the jokes i had seen dozens of times before. I couldn't believethe obvious SUBWAY product placement, i found the adam sandler characterreminded me of everyone i disliked in college. an absolute waste of studiomoney.
