First of all, It's refreshing to watch a sitcom that doesn't take placein Southern California or the East Coast , for example; Hot inCleveland, Reba, even Last Man Standing.I'm a single mom who lives in Texas, Abilene to be exact, and thewriters have NAILED the major characters. Too bad the rest of you don'tunderstand. We didn't all grow up like the "Dallas" series. Hopefully, the writers will have time to develop our characters infuture episodes. So they aren't a Clair Hukstable "Supermom", that'spart of their charm. It's apparent they are maturing and theirstruggles are relative and honest to those of us who have been there.

I like the idea of this series but I never know what pool of crap I'mdiving myself into when I watched the pilot. Like any other sanereviewers, I'm curious who write this junk? The pilot was dumb, racistand insulting to the very core, I can actually feel I'm losing braincell over this. I fast forward the episode after ten numb minutes andthe end was just as I guess, awful. I think it's sad as I do like the two lead actress Jamie and Katie, they are hilarious but the idea of watching divorce moms being afraidof their teenage daughters is a stretch and. I can't buy it and neithershould you! Let this networks know that we want 'quality' show notsomething that comes out of pile of bad comedy. Maybe I should startwatching Whitney and compare which one is worst, eh?

First of all I have to say one thing to the other "reviewers", LIGHTENUP!!!! Its a sitcom folks not a Pulitzer prize nominated documentary. Ithink the purpose of the show is to make us laugh for a few minutes outof the day and that's exactly what it did for me. Granted, the show isstill new and the characters are still being developed but I thought itwas genuinely funny. I think the chemistry between all the characterswas very good, the story lines are hip and current, and the jokes were, dare I say, funny! The only complaint I have is yeah the girls look alittle older than fifteen. But other than that, I liked it and I'mgoing to keep watching it.

I Hate My Teenage Daughter: everything that is wrong withcanned-laughter sitcoms with so-called punch-lines. I totally gottricked by a preview, but the execution was SITCOM-HELL. This formatneeds to retire, so that single camera comedies can have more room. These shows are uninspired and employ hacks that have been in theindustry forever. They need to try harder. Seriously, stop thisFORMULA. It isn't a winner. Boring. Excessively jokey with jokes thataren't even funny. Learn to write? Don't try so hard? There needs to bean end to these shows. Stop the formula of formulaic formula. Therereally has to be an end for these shows. The line-producers that getpaid to make this recycled crap need to be unemployed. Mainly, theyneed to stop making these shows. At some point, these kinds of showsneed to stop being made.

OK, I know that I really like Jaime Pressly because she is simply HOT,HOT, HOT, but she can really be bloody funny and this show is a reallygood comedy. I haven't seen Katie Finneran in much comedy, but betweenthe 2 of them, you are going to need a thick towel on your chairbecause you are going to wet your self laughing. Who would have thoughtthat you could take the horror and struggles of going through a younggirls teenage years and make it an appealing comedy for the family. Igive this show (I HATE MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER) 8 out of 10, but only sothere is some room in case they make a few episodes even better.Happy Viewing from Mike.PS: if you don't find this show funny, see your Doctor immediately, because you have either lost your hearing, eyesight or your mind :-)

I am a Jaime Pressly fan, although I confess, my chief interest hasmore to do with her aesthetic than her acting prowess. She hasn't had much luck in her film career. At least nothing assuccessful as her run as "Joy" on the sitcom "My Name is Earl".Still I had hoped she would find a vehicle that would bring her thesuccess she enjoyed on "Earl". Unfortunately, this show does notdeliver. The characters are uninteresting, and fail to generate interest whilemaking their way through unremarkable writing. My guess is the show won't have more than six episodes to turn thingsaround.

I watched this pilot and was appalled. Both the mothers come across ascomplete idiots. Not just about their daughters, about everything.Listen to the way they describe things like they don't know their linesor like they're both just completely distracted by something, witheverything they say.I also agree with a previous reviewer that the idea of two moms beingafraid of their daughters is a little ridiculous. Its not the ideaitself, just the degree. The two moms, even when furious at theirdaughters, seem to have no control over two kids who, you know, live intheir house, eat their food, and in general depend on the two women toat least some extent. I mean, I was waiting the whole episode for themto do something. The way they actually dealt with the problem was quiteunsatisfying.I don't think the show will last as is.

I haven't laughed so hard at a TV show in a long time. I watch thiswith my mom who has raised four daughters to adulthood and she was intears laughing as we watched it. I can understand why others won't likeit, it definitely is more "woman humor" than anything so many may notbe able to relate so much. But if your a mother of a teenage daughter, was a teenage daughter, is a teenage daughter now, then you shouldtotally watch this show. I think people should give it more of achance. The reviews I've read on it haven't been great so far which isdisappointing, most of them calling out bad parenting--which is thefunny plot point that I think they all fail to get. All series need tostart out with some sort of problem. I'm rooting for this show, I hopeit has a good run.

OK first of all I like Jaime Pressly. I think she is a good actress. Ihappened upon this show by complete accident, it was on a channel idon't normally watch, i didn't c the premiere of it. FIRST, the name ofthe show SUCKS. Mothers DO NOT hate their daughters. They should comeup with a better name. SECOND, Jamie was trying too hard in episode 2.episode 2 wasn't bad..i might watch next week to c IF it improves ornot. that is, if i can find it again. The rest of the cast was OK,nothing really special BUT its early. I didn't think they should startthis new show right off, with such a serious problem as teens havingbabies. to me, that is something they can take on IF they get "pickedup" by the network. they should have started off easier and perhaps alittle bit funnier - after all, it IS a sitcom. The supporting castseemed to be OK, but not seeing the first episode i was slightly lostin who was who. Maybe i will check it out next week, if you have readmy review, thanks - please check back next week to see if i reviewepisode 3 or not.

Show is terribly made from top to bottom. Seriously what shows stilluse a laugh track? Either you get laughs from a live audience or don'tbother with it.Jaime Pressly was written and cast perfectly as Joy on My Name is Earlbut has a terrible character to play here. How can you have someone whoplayed Joy Turner in one of the funniest sitcom characters to play sucha dull and played out boring character like this is beyond me.The daughters were interchangeable and uninteresting characters thatyou really don't care why they're such pains in the butt. The show basically just wimps out for the sake of sentimentality. Badexecution by the writing on this show.

Granted, not the best new comedy ever and definitely not "My Name isEarl," but I still had to defend "I Hate My teenage Daughter." Plentyof shows still use laugh tracks and I definitively see potential androom for character and plot development. Most of all I had to commenton the reviewers who saw hating their teenage daughters as implausible.Do any of you even have children? Or even nieces? Or remember beingdaughters and how terrible they were to their mothers? I was mostdefinitely one of them! Whether it was merited or not is another storyentirely! Most girls, especially of this generation are awful! Theythink they know it all and are horrible to everyone, their mothersespecially. Naturally their mothers hate them back(in a very loving wayof course)! It's not until they reach adulthood that they can actuallyappreciate their mothers, if ever! This show has its place in down toearth, true to real life, silly comedies. The daughters may be a bitgeneric, but to adults most teenage girls are! I hope they develop thecharacters, but it makes me laugh and remember my teenage years and I'msure hits, at times possibly uncomfortable yet hilariously, close tohome for many mother's of teenage girls. To the fans, enjoy and give ita chance! To the writers, you are on to something here! Just veer awayfrom the stereotypical and cheesy and embrace the real and hilarious!Especially the raw comedic talent you have in Jaime Pressley!

Horrible, insulting, and more filth from the Networks! Just what Iwanted to do in the first 5 minutes of the show...hear "ass" twice,"whore", crap, with my teenage son! And the token black man hates whiteguys that play golf, seriously...who wrote this?? And that is all inthe first 5 minutes! Oh, and lets advertise the movie "ALVIN" duringtwo moms swearing? What genius thought of this? Cast was fake, the bestfriend is fighting with her ex, he comes in, sits down and helpshimself to a stack of pancakes, spends $300 on an outfit that a"hooker" would wear but gets the limo for the dance? No plot, but toinsult single struggling moms! Nice job FOX to actually release this. Iwould describe this new TV show as one of the moms suggested in theactual program...."crap"!
