A perfectly foul, harsh and disgusting Nazisploitation flick
All kinds of horrible stuff happens to the luckless lady prisoners atSS Camp 5. Their fierce and sadistic Nazi captors either force thewomen to become prostitutes so they can sexually service Nazi officersand boost morale or use them as guinea pigs for barbaric scientificexperiments. Director/co-writer Sergio Garrone certainly doesn't skimpon the leering low-grade sleaze: we've got plentiful gratuitous distaffnudity, two group shower scenes, an orgy, a few sordid soft-core sexscenes, and one very nasty rape. Moreover, Garrone delivers the raw,ugly and sickening brutality by the nauseating bucketful: Among thehideous sights on display are four would-be escapees being torched inan oven, various poor ladies having their legs set on fire, one gal hasher head crushed in a vice, another gets repeatedly punched in thestomach with sharp brass knuckles, a third lass has flaming bamboosticks placed under her fingernails (ouch!), and a fourth woman has hertongue torn out with a huge pair of tongs. This thoroughly fetid flickfurther benefits from the sound acting by a capable cast, withespecially stand-out turns by foxy Pam Grier lookalike Rita Manna asfeisty Jamaican Alina, Giorgio Cerioni as the humane Colonel Strasser,Serafino Profuma as cruel commandant Lt. Hans, Paola Corazzi asfetching blonde Edith, Patrizia Melegna as mean Nazi bitch Greta, PaolaD'Egidio as the gutsy Deborah, Attilio Dottesio as quack scientist Dr.Abraham, and Paola Lelio as homely fat whorehouse madam Magda. MaurizioCentini's plain cinematography, the moody, melancholy, flesh-crawlingsynthesizer score by Vasili Kojucharov and Roberto Pregadio, and thegrim, despairing tone all greatly add to the overall considerablesliminess and mean-spiritedness of this choice sick ItalianNazisploitation trash.

Nazi boredom & incompetence Camp...
"Naziploitation" has got to be the most worthless and redundant subgenre of horror cinema, and yet it was extremely popular during thelate 70's. All these controversial-sounding titles like "SS Hell Camp","SS Experiment Love Camp" or this "SS Camp 5: Women's Hell" areextremely boring and poorly made movies and not even half as shockingas they think they are. Tinto Brass' "Salon Kitty" and theever-infamous "Ilsa  She Wolf of the SS" are still somewhatinteresting, but that's merely because they function as simple andstraightforward sex films. This "SS Camp 5: Women's Hell" is the worstone yet. It's a totally mundane and ugly movie without action, suspenseor atmosphere. The Second World War is almost over, but these sadisticGenerals in the camp don't yet realize that Germany is losing. Whenevera shipment of new prisoner girls arrives, they get divided into twogroups, namely whores and medical guinea pigs. The only thing I learnedfrom this movie is that Nazis apparently liked to play with fire Themedical experiments all involve setting the girls (or at least certainbody parts) on fire. Whenever they want to punish a girl for insultingthe Third Reich; they use fire. Whenever a girl needs to be eliminated Well, you know the drill. In the end Russians invade the camp, thefemale prisoners  led by a Jamaican babe  join the battle againsttheir torments, and they live happily after all. Insufferable garbage,avoid at all costs.

Like the next guy, I enjoy a good sexploitation flick, but somehowwhile watching this one, a phrase from "Seinfeld" kept jumping to mymind; "WE DON'T CARE AND IT SHOWS".They didn't care to get good looking girls, they didn't care to getones who can act, they didn't care to remove items and clothes that donot belong to 1945 and they didn't care to make a film that makes anysense. One other thing I'm dead sure of; there was no writer or scriptfor this flick, they were improvising just as they filmed! These moviesare all about nudity/sex and torture, but this thing manages to failmiserably in both, nudity is very restricted as if it was an Americanfilm, and the gore is so stupidly done it is funny... special creditshould be given to the tongue pull out scene as being worth anomination for "The Middle Finger Award".They even used special effects in two scenes where women were beingburned in gas ovens, but it seems that the budget for these effects wasseven and a half dollars cause it looked retarded beyond belief.Some stock footage was used along with lines from Nazi actors that wereso corny I wanted to stick a needle in my ears! When there is 10minuets left to the end, leave anything you might be doing and prepareto watch the greatest shooting action in the history of cinema, thewomen each becomes an Arnold Schwarzenegger and they take all theGerman officers and soldiers out in a way that makes you wonder what ifthese five women decide to invade Russia on their own? To summarize, this is a must, it is so stupid and insulting to viewersthat you must see it to believe.

Nazis getting nasty
*SPOILER ALERT* *SPOILER ALERT*"S.S. Camp 5: Women's Hell" concerns itself with race relations, abortion,medical experiments, mass female showering and other important issues whiletelling the tale of prisoners in a Nazi prison. Female prisoners of course.The good looking ones are sent to be prostitutes. The not so glamorous onesare sent to be medical experiments. Their favorite experiment was pouringoil onto the leg of a prisoner and setting it on fire. See, that way thedoctors can look at the burn wound and see if they can heal it. Or else itwas all for the viewers pleasure so he can see a female scream inpain.Yes, it was another lowdown Naziploitation movie. I won't rest until I'veseen them all. They are all so unbelievably slimy. Naziploitation flicks arewomen's prison movies except they have the Nazi stigma drenched over them. Ifeel dirty after watching them. I'm almost ashamed to admit having seen it.Almost! This one was a little tame. On the plus side, there was nudity and two massshower scenes. There is a decent torture scene and a couple of unnecessarymedical experiment scenes. So that's good. But all of the sex scenes wereweak. The women weren't that attractive and there was no gratuitousgirl/girl action. I mean, the female warden should be horny. Am I wrong? Shewasn't. Nor was she overly sadistic. Ilsa, we needed you for this one. Wortha peek though if you love a good, wholesome Nazi prisonflick.
