Time travel, Dinosaurs, SciFi - what could possibly go wrong?

The answer sadly is: A lot.The CGI looks like it's straight from the first Jurassic Park, whichwas quite impressive at that time, but isn't anymore at all.Add to that clichéd family drama, predictable plot, terrible acting andyou end up with Terra Nova.My guess is they try to be the new Eureka, which evolved quite heavily.Sadly, this series' quality is even below Eureka Season 1 standards.I wasted my time watching the first four episodes, because I was stillhoping that the show would be good at some point (who in their rightmind would not want a show with dinosaurs to succeed?).At this point, I have given up hope for this show. After the first fiveminutes you basically know how an episode will end.Makes me sad.

poor show

Badly acted, poorly written, this is a big let down ,watched 2 episodeswont watch a third.A world where every one is under thirty and goodlooking,Stephen Spielberg is involved,i know what to expect ,but ialways hope he will make something good but he never does, shame.i knowhes the producer but did he ever read a script? oh well i suppose afterthe Killing everything on TV looks third rate the Danish version thatis This drivel looks like a cross of every other show you have everseen, don't know the director but he is poor! lots of money thrown at itbut it still looks cheap, and its so politically correct, preachy anddull dull dull.

Absolutely Loved It!

I was really surprised to see the negative comments about this series.OK so Sci Fi / Fantasy shows are not to every-ones taste. That is agiven. However for people like me & it seems some others who actuallydo enjoy this genre it is great. The special effects whilst not up to say high budget movie specialeffects, were certainly very well done for a TV show. You can seeSpielbergs hand in this from every angle that you watch it.The Shannon family I found a touch predictable, being the "all Americanfamily" that seems to be portrayed in most shows. It would have beennice if they had actually had it where you could not tell "where onearth" the family had actually come from. I actually quite liked thefact that the family had had a third child & had hidden her as they didnot want to lose her to the population ruling. To me that actually wasa valid point given the population growth on earth at the moment & thatin the end something like that will end up happening. How many familieswould be able to give up a child? I thought that was well done.I don't know so much that they made a hero out of the dad either. Ithink that he wasn't treated as a hero at all. He was given a jobsimilar to being a policeman once they had gone to Terra Nova when heproved himself. He was given menial jobs before that so hardly making ahero out of him.Yes OK the storyline was a bit prolonged, however this is a new series, they have to give a lot of information in the first couple of episodesfor it to make sense. watch most new shows & you get that kind ofthing.Yes the teenagers are a bit whiney etc. However are teenagers reallymeant to change that much? Honestly? Even in the future they wouldstill have issues etc.I thought it was cleverly done letting it be known that the leader ofTerra Nova's son was out there somewhere & that it was him leaving themarkings. That he was doing it to show his dad & everyone else thatwhat they were doing would impact the future on earth. Something thathad been denied by the officials before they went there if you watchedthe show properly. So they did not call the dinosaurs by their proper names so what? Doyou really think we have uncovered every single species of dinosaurthat roamed the earth? I think not. Also calling something thatscreeches a screamer (or was it screecher? sorry I'm tired) to me islogical.I was a bit dubious about Stephen Lang playing the leader of TerraNova. Like others I do think his character is very similar to that onAvatar. Hopefully though that will change as the series progresses. Those that have been down on this show need to really sit down & think. We do not have TV shows made as movies, they do not have the massivebudgets that movies have. However a lot of money HAS been put into thisshow & it shows. So I would definitely say to those not so sure becauseof the negative comments to give it a go. Watch at least the first 5episodes before giving up on it to let the show settle down. Then ifyou still don't like it at least you tried. However I for one ampositive I will like this show & will stay with it. I also hope therewill be a second series. I love it when Spielberg goes into TV italways works well. Just look at band of brothers & taken as an example. He does not get involved in TV often & when he does it usually worksreally well. The other plus with this show is the fact that apart from the fact itis filmed in Australia, so you actually get the vegetation from ourrainforests making it look more realistic. Not only that but we havegreat actors that have also been included (Damien Walshe-Howling &apparently Dean Geyer is in it but I did not recognise him). If Dean isin it then I hope his acting has improved. (there I am an honestAussie) However yeah its nice to see other nations included in theactors to give it more authenticity.I am worried that Fox actually have this show given their tendency tocancel shows after one season & really hope this one does not go thesame way. Fox is not usually a sci-fi friendly channel. Lets hope thischanges that fact

No, no, no

Paradoxically I'm giving this a high score - not for what it is, butfor what it might become. The premise is ridiculous and but for theappearance of Stephen Lang I would probably have abandoned ship or puton Avatar instead. This is a polished production from a special effects perspective, although the dinosaurs are not well thought out. Stephen Lang exudescommand authority to the point I can't help think this is the real man- not just some flaky actor. Everyone else is mere eye candy bycomparison.Life in dinosaur times would be extremely arduous - it would not looklike a holiday camp. Where are the flying insects that would drivepeople behind domes or at least block buildings? Why would you buildindividual, designer homes with toilet paper hanging from the ceiling?Really the whole camp concept is ludicrous. But if the premise is questionable, the story is outright absurd, starting with the circumstances leading to our heroes' arrival in TerraNova. I view them as thoughtless and selfish people. The script writersneed to be replaced by the team from Eureka which, by the way, has thesame focus on the under-rated police officer.Of course any Eden requires a protagonist. Again the situationpresented in the pilot does not ring true at all. However I'll allowsome hope to enter into the equation. Maybe the writers just wanted toget past the starting premise as quickly as possible so they couldfocus on the real story? I have to hope this is the case and ignore thesinking feeling in my stomach. There are books like Larry Niven's "Legend of Heorot" or "The Mote inGod's Eye" that cry out to be made into a film or series. So why onearth did the studios agree to this lame, derivative and implausibleseries?

aadams (23 May 2012)

Good concept, but needs more original thinking

The whole family thing has the wrong feel for the situation. It's likethey just moved there from Orange County. The teens are petulantbabies. I doubt that would be the case if they had really just left anoverpopulated, dangerously polluted world run by a harshly militaristicgovernment. Why can't there be some original thinking about how peoplemight behave in such a precarious situation with an uncertain future, dinosaur threats, and a competing population. Maybe this is a worldwhere teens use their capable brains in new and interesting ways, rather than as trite selfish brats who need babysitting. I doubt thatteens would act like that if they were in this situation. Yes, it'sgood to have varying levels of behavior; not everyone has to bebrilliant or saintly. But behavior is influenced by situation and itshould bring unique fears, force some creativity, plus there is anobvious ability to have impact in such a small population. What are therelevant issues in this world and how do they impact the inhabitants?

Decent, interesting blend of themes, give it a shot

This show is reasonably entertaining regardless of the fact that, assome reviews have pointed out, that there are clichés and themespreviously done before. Yes, there are dinosaurs, and yes Jurassic Parkhad them too... Yes there is a colony... yes Earth 2 had a colony...yes the sister is smart and so is Lisa Simpson... I would like toestablish that there is no such thing as an "original story" inanything you watch, read, or listen to. Everything is a version ofsomething that has come before it. I have enjoyed Terra Nova so farbecause it merges various things I find enjoyable for a science fictionshow. I enjoy dinosaurs, and there are not many shows or movies outthere with them in them. That said, Earth 2 had a colony, but it didn'thave dinosaurs. As for the sister being smart... well... it just sohappens that in a new world colony you would desire smart people, sothat makes sense. There are cliché's in it, that's not deniable in theleast, and yes, it detracts from the quality of the show a bit, but notenough for me to not watch the show. When I first put this show on, Iwas only going to watch the first few minutes, as I was tired... I wasdrawn in by it, curious. There is a fairly high level of predictabilityas well, I won't at all try to deny that. But it's how it's all carriedout on screen that's intriguing. It's not often we get a show where A.)people travel to the past B.) where there are dinosaurs C.) create acolony due to the fact their original world has been destroyed bymankind etc. I recall one review complaining about the ... houses...yes... the houses... of course they would be modern. They're modernbecause we aren't primitive in the timeline they're sending suppliesfrom... They are able to send them modern materials. The houses looklike collapsible homes from the outside, so it stands to reason theywere designed to be constructed easily out of tough, modern agematerials... not log cabins... WHAT I THINK? I think everyone who likesDinosaurs, Science Fiction, and decently paced TV, who doesn't geteasily bothered by Clichés and moderate predictability, to give thisshow a shot. If you think about it... Everything is cliché because it'ssomething that's been done before on some level many times by now. Giveit a shot, develop your own opinion :)

Instinct

Episode three of the new series Terra Nova on FX was indeed one of thebest episodes yet. The action scenes were fairly decent for a TV Show. However, the graphics of the dinosaurs are very terrible. Terra Novajust doesn't compete with Jurassic Park. If your looking for a show toreplace Lost, this is not it. In fact, Terra Nova has a very similarplot to Lost. The show is a scary/jumper/thriller all combined intoone. There was a lot of romance in this episode like we see in Lost.Relationships are starting to blossom. Terra Nova is so similar to Lostthat it even has "the others" or the "sixers" If you enjoy that type ofgenre, than this is a TV show you may want to watch.

markjohnevans79 (19 May 2012)

Distinctly average and full of clichés

I wasn't overly bothered about watching this show, dinosaurs don'tparticularly interest me (as I'm neither a palaeontologist nor a 10year old boy) but I found myself at a lose end and decided to give it atry. Unfortunately I found it to be a mish mash of other shows thathave come before with clichéd characters and a clichéd plot. No realthought seems to have gone into the writing and those charactersfeatured seem to have been lifted from previous shows and films. Forinstance you have the authoritarian father with a heart of gold, theunderstanding and strong mother, the angst ridden brat of a son withdaddy issues who doesn't want to be there, the wallflower daughter andthe cutesy infant. As for the supporting characters, they don't getmuch better. There's the "on the surface he seems like a good guy butyou know he's not" Colonel Taylor, the spunky, brave, impetuous, freespirited teenage girl who doesn't follow the rules but makes the sonthink that "hey this place ain't so bad", then there's......oh you knowwhat forget it! Characters like these have been done to death a milliontimes before and I really can't be bothered to go over old ground. Theplot itself was hardly anything new. Then there's the holes which youcould drive a bus through: 1) Why build a fence 20 foot high whenyou're living in a world where the animals on your door step couldliterally step over it with ease or destroy it like matchsticks 2) Ifit's really a different time stream then the statement made at the endof Part 2 makes no sense (controlling the past to control the futurebut if it's a different time stream then it'll have no effect). 3) Abag full of money and a weapon is left on a relatively busy street forwho knows how long and yet no one stumbles across it.It really seems someone has bought a book akin to "Writing Sci-Fi showsfor Dummies" and used that to produce Terra Nova. I will carry onwatching but this introduction has hardly blown me away.

Jurrasic Park on National TV

I love dinosaurs, Zombies and Aliens. This made me got interested onthis series. Its okay ---if you don't have anything else to watch. Ibelieve someone should check how Maddy Shannon aka Naomi Scott acts. She's "overreacting" especially the part Josh's missing his shoes. Herreaction is pathetic rolling of eyes! Come on Steven Spielberg send herto some acting school! I believe they should be able to see that giventhese things are supposed to be edited. It appears to me it gets editedbut not requested to be seen by different set of eyes priorbroadcasting. I love Terranova even the low IMDb rating, but it just happen I lovedinosaurs.

kizzmyash (19 May 2012)

Special FX for the guns are bad

So the 2 hour premiere has a few scenes with the humans fightingdinosaurs. Apparently, the dinosaurs are bullet proof because theywouldn't take ANY damage! All you saw was a ricochet effect off them, and in some cases they were using a 50 caliber gun mounted on atransport vehicle. This wasn't a plot point or anything so it comes offas very lazy special effects. This then leaves the problem, if the gunsdon't hurt the dinosaurs, why would you take a weapon out to defendyourself from them if it doesn't work? I mean they had about 6 guysshooting one and it eventually turned and ran. I can see maybe theywanted to tone down the blood and death a bit in the pilot but it cameoff as a major flaw.

donvaughn (16 May 2012)

Insipid family story like too many others that ruin SciFi movies.

I couldn't even make it to the first commercial to scroll through on myDVR. I deleted Terra Nova instinctively. I was not going to sit throughan insipid family story no matter what the setting. When the fatherthrew himself in front of his family as security bore down, well, click. This is a disturbing trend to me, a Sci Fi fan since the 50s, inrecent movies and I won't be a participant. 2012 was the story of afather saving his family, driving fast over cracks in the road andeventually fixing a hatch door while his family waited anxiously forhim to bob up. The Day the Earth Stood Still was ruined by the the backstory of the brat and his dead Dad. I can even deal with the badscience (the geology in 2012 is heinous) if the story is compelling. But stories about Mommies and Daddies, sisters and brothers and littlesisters (in space/in the Mesozoic/under the ocean, etc.) and every bodyalive, together and happy are as compelling to me as doing the laundry.I have to do the laundry but I don't have to sit through someoverwrought domestic fairly tale. I think somebody's going to losemoney on this. Shame.

Mark Holloway (16 May 2012)

OK. It's not 'Contact' or 'Close Encounters' but it's very entertaining

Having read a lot of the reviews here; I have to dis-agree with many ofthem. This is a good, entertaining, visually appealing series.Sure it is not scientifically perfect and sure there are someunexplained events documented very well here. However, the storyline about going back in time, the challenges thatprovides, the fight of principles against mindless profiteering, theneed to keep in touch with the future ('past'?) and the special effectsare entertaining and ... that's what it's for mostly. While a little on the predictable side; there are interesting twistsand the storyline seems to be going in a good direction by the end ofthe first season.Given this is clearly developed for prime time US TV and we all knowthe constraints that puts on a show; I enjoy it and am looking forwardto the next season.

nettminder (15 May 2012)

Not that great, not that bad, somewhere in the middle

Not a bad start but nothing spectacular. Watching Terra Nova's premierwas a hit and miss experience. I was expecting something a littlebigger in regards to the story. Terra Nova runs with a well knownformula and you will not see or hear anything new within this episode. The characters are OK, not a lot of chemistry between the maincharacter and his wife and some typical manufactured family angst. Thebest thing is of course what we do not know about yet. The sixers mayhave some life as well as the real reasons why Terra Nova was plannedand executed. I felt they spent way too much time dragging out thewhole kids stuck in the car while the dinosaurs are attacking, didn'twe see that in Jurassic Park years ago? I think they missed a realchance to establish mortal danger and one of the kids should have bitthe dust. If you are that stupid for going into dinosaur land without aweapon/training then at least one kid needs to be dinosaur dinner. Thisshow could build to something but I am getting the feeling the writersmay not be that creative.

Joined Just To Register My Utter Disgust

As a qualifier to what I'm about to say, I really wanted to like thisshow. Honestly, the science fiction genre always commands a great dealof latitude with me. Normally I will overlook the occasional bout ofpredictability, even certain production fails or FX faux-pas, remainingever optimistic that things will all pan out in the end. Add the namesand backing behind Terra Nova and I truly assumed great things would beforthcoming. So I've forced myself to watch every episode.Having said that...This show insults the intelligence of any sci fi fan. Actually, itinsults the intelligence of my 7 year old boy. It is easily the largestbag full of character/story arc clichés I've seen since I forced myselfthrough a few 'Leave It To Beaver' episodes when I was 12 and sent homefrom school sick with the flu. The show is crap, 100%. And sorry folks, but the FX are also just... completely... awful. Barney the Dinosaurlooks more realistic than some of that CG work. Just awful. Of course Ican easily expect a network to be found guilty of such ineptitude increative decision making, but I just can't believe that StevenSpielberg would lend his name or studio to this brand of nonsense.I really would like to go mental here, explaining in many paragraphs, the many levels of FAIL this show is responsible for, but now that Ithink about it - what's the point? Anyone with a palette for good TV,sci fi or not - will watch 5 minutes of 1 episode of this sugary sapand instantly know what kind of horse manure it is. Hell, I can't evendescribe the show as predictable or mundane - even though it certainlyis all of that and more. The show can only be properly described in oneword... HORRIBLE.If my IQ were under 60, or perhaps if I was 6 years old, this might beslightly entertaining, maybe. On second thought, nope, it would stillsuck.I can only feel sorry for the actors, in that I felt Jason O'Mara hadsome acting chops (Life On Mars US), and Steven Lang ... well... StevenLang has tenure and street cred IMO. But having said that, the acting, even from the stars, it is SO terribly over the top and just ...well...cheapish. I mean, really, really, cheapish, in a 70's Charlie'sAngels/original Star Trek pilot episode kinda way. Speaking of theoriginal Star Trek, all of the fight scenes I've had the displeasure ofwatching in Terra Nova are eerily reminiscent of the cheesy,over-the-top Captain Kirk vs. *insert Alien here* fights everyone onplanet Earth has had enough of. I can only assume that the actorslooked at these horrid scripts and decided to save their skills forREAL writing.I honestly wonder why a studio/network would waste so much time, effort, and money on what amounts to a poor and seemingly hurried mashup of Swiss Family Robinson + Dinotopia. There are so many originalstory ideas floating around these days, SO many talented young writersand producers who would much better serve the attention of StevenSpielberg and Amblin Entertainment. Those up-and-comers deserve aplatform like network TV to showcase quality material and serve thefuture of their creative talents. The folks writing and producing TerraNova? These folks aren't investing 1% of talent to the show. Sorry butthis show deserves nothing but to be canceled, as quickly as possible,in the hopes that someone at Fox will grow a clue and seek out properwriters and producers the next time around. It's just a big colossalwaste of time for everyone, from the producers and actors right downthe line to the viewers - such as myself - who gave it every chance tosucceed. One question though, how does this creative drivel garner a 7 out of 10rating here at IMDb? Has the viewing public been that dumbed down? Ihaven't checked other reviews r.e. Terra Nova yet, but I truly hopethat I don't see too many "it's a good show" comments or I swear I willlose all hope in humanity.Shame on whatever genius it was who made the final decision to letschlock writing like this get picked from the trash bin and produced.Shame.

Jurassic Stargate that may not last the distance!

I watched this last night and although the acting was average it didsuck me in a little or should I say enough so I will tune in a few moretimes.I have a million questions about the choice of who went back to thepast, the lottery and how it was conducted and who could or couldn'twin, why the sixes would go rogue. I hope that they may cover some ofthis in the future but as with all Fox TV shows I won't hold my breathAs for being like Lost…I hated lost! It lost me when it went ….NOWHERE!! I have never understood why they try to drag out a series whensometimes they should finish after just one or two seasons.

drillin_riffilin (13 May 2012)

Decent beginning but how will they continue

I went into this show without and high hopes and i was surprised to saythe least. At first it does drag but once immersed in the story itisn't to bad. Yes the characters are weak at the moment but all showsstart with weak characters. The acting is a bit on the down side butthere is room for improvement.SPOILER!!!!!!! My main concern about this show is that they might befocusing in the wrong area for the plot. Instead of focusing on thefamily, they should focus on Terranova itself. They started with asolid foundation about Terranova and the Sixers but by the secondepisode they don't get mentioned at all. But this all could change. So for now it looks like the show might be heading in the wrongdirection but it could all change. I would recommend this for peoplewho enjoy shows like Stargate Atlantis and Movies like Avatar.

scottrobinson6210 (07 May 2012)

Terra Nova is great for families, give it a chance to mature

Terra Nova is a great show! Fox should be commended for producing atruly family-friendly series, a brave thing to do these days. TerraNova and The Middle are about the only family- friendly shows on TVright now. Everyone else puts in sexual scenes or incidents thatdegrade the characters, distract from the story and jar family viewersfor no reason. As Bill Cosby said, "It's like someone put red pepperflakes in the Jell-O pudding." Terra Nova doesn't do that, but stillpacks enough excitement to keep jaded teens interested.(Full disclosure: I joined IMDb just so I could post this review. I'mnot a big network TV fan but was lured back to network TV to check outa fairy tale show on a different network, which promised to have a"Narnia" feel to it. Alas, it has been disappointing because it hasextramarital sex in every episode (Hollywood promoting its favoritefairy tale: casual sex with no emotional damage, or venereal diseases,or pregnancies.) But that got me watching network TV again, and I'dheard about Terra Nova so I checked it out. I was pleasantly surprised- and hooked.)Four reasons why I really enjoy the show:1. It features a functional family who are civil with each otherinstead of snarky and sarcastic (rare on TV, since sarcasm is a cheapway to create conflict and laughs). The family members engage in noextramarital anything. It is extremely refreshing. My teen and5th-grader can watch it and I don't have to hide their eyes (except forsome dinosaur-on-human scenes early on). The father of the family andthe Commander of the colony are strong father figures, even honorable.Admittedly, this means the writers have to resort to implausiblesituations (like all the blackmail) to generate conflict andinteresting story lines, but that's better than having to endureanother parade of atrocious role models just because that makes it easyfor writers to generate conflict and drama. Give Terra Nova time tolearn how to generate exciting story lines without all the tawdry, cliché techniques other shows employ. Bravo, Spielberg, et al!2. The show portrays the Cretaceous period very realistically (speakingas a lifelong dinosaur fan and a geologist). The dinosaurs aren't aninvincible scourge that bullets can't stop; they don't lurk behindevery tree waiting to pounce; instead, the Cretaceous is like theSerengeti - both have big animals that are dangerous if you get tooclose, but they can be subdued or avoided with the right approach orhardware. I like it that big animals show up only now and then, as biganimals really would. Big dinos should be rare, since it takes a lot offood to maintain the big ones. Someday that nearby Brachiosaurus herdcan camp around the colony; that would bring in some dinos that reallycould snap their fence in two without trying, and the brachs wouldattract the really big predators that everyone wants to see.3. The sets are detailed and lavish. Somebody had to BUILD this colonyin Australia; it's not CG! That alone makes it a pleasure to watch -it's more believable than CG. Their futuristic technology iswell-designed and plausible; it forms a natural and interestingbackdrop to the story. They use it, but it doesn't get in the way.Refreshing (but probably expensive).4. Scientists, doctors, and engineers have positive roles in everyepisode (along with the soldiers and cops). Science or medicine helpsthe colony in every episode; it's vital to Terra Nova's survival. Thisis great because we need to inspire kids to enter scientific careers,so we can keep innovating at a rate that will be competitive with Chinaand India now that those countries each graduate more scientists andengineers than the total of all U.S. college graduates!Apparently the show didn't live up to the hopes of some sci-fi fans(judging by the early reviews in this series), but it is clean, positive entertainment and that's brave for Fox to offer (and they'rethe only ones doing it this season). Bravo for them! As to thecomplaint that it is unoriginal and relies on cliché plot lines anddialogue, that is true; but everything has been done before, so callingit "unoriginal" is a very unoriginal criticism. I admit the show ispredictable, but I don't mind that; I've watched enough sci-fi shows in45 years to be able to predict all of them. I watch the show for therealistic rendering of dinosaurs and the positive family role models. Isay give them time; their writers deserve a chance to learn how to makethe show more believable. Meanwhile, the show has enough dinosaurs andcool technology to keep kids and teens (and at least one geologist)interested.

Falling Skies with different creatures

Poor rehash of a mediocre product, right down to the cliché machocommander, earnest and courageous female doctor, precociousadolescents, renegade bands contending for resources, and tough-to-killcritters lurking outside the perimeter. Do you buy a "file-in-the-cake"prison escape with the technology of the distant future? And, that thepolice wouldn't be sitting on the escapee's family who has applied toleave the area? How about the teenagers hopping the fence into adinosaur infested jungle to sneak some hooch? If you didn't catch theopener, imagine yourself in Jurassic Park. At your most callow stage, could you see yourself slipping under the wire to take a nip among theraptors? The special effects are okay but it's going to take more thanarticulated lizards to hold an audience.

The hottest new show on television!!!

To all those who wanted that Jurassic Park 4 should stop your mopingand turn to Terra Nova. Now this show isn't like Jurassic Park in thesense of the setting, but the action, suspense, excitement is allthere. Every episode is involving and adventurous. Each episode hasmultiple story lines, but only one story line is completely focused onthroughout the episode. I have no big complaints about this showwhatsoever. It isn't completely flawless, however, nothing is perfect. This show is a definite must see. It's like a movie on TV. You won'twant to miss out on the greatness of Terra Nova. It will blow your mindaway.

Will there Be dinosaurs .. in this Dinosaur show

We had High hopes for this show, but so far they seem to be moreconcerned about the sixers. Not sure if I'm writing spoilers but Ichecked it anyway. Maybe because the show seems to be centered aroundtwo factions of humans and very little is about life in a land withDinosaurs. maybe they should show the struggles of keeping a T-rex outof the wood stick structure. or show some ones that could fly right inthe compound.. but No what we get is a fight between the sixers andterra nova. A bunch of convoluted drama. they could have set it inAfrica or the Australian outback and it would be the same.Must not havethe budget for Dinosaurs oh well, We will try a couple more episodes and see if we get someDinosaurs in this dinosaur show. but it's pretty irritating. and NOTSci Fi.
