Five friends returning from a marriage in Canada return home to the United States. Not far from the border, two customs officers stop them to check their identity. Suspicious, they take their time especially with Jalil, a man of Arab origin. The situation worsens when a customs officer finds a small bag of marijuana in the luggage. Then things degenerate rapidly a customs officer grabs the little dog thats part of the group and slits open its belly to be sure its not a mule. When Gab makes a move, hes shot. The customs officer orders the surviving friends to undress and put on orange coveralls. Gradually, it dawns on the four tourists that they are in the hands of former torturers from Guantanamo.

Just watched this movie and first came here to simply give a rating toit. Then I saw the reviews and just had to disagree with most of themexcept the one from "dylan-chauvin- smith". Of course the main plot hasbeen seen before, the whole teenagers taking a bad turn... but this onehas to be one the most original take on it I have seen in a while.First there is the political dimension and statement about Guantanamoitself and how war can really mess people up in their brains. It speaksof the potential for horror of letting people with too much power andvery little legal oversight. Being a lawyer can help when you have aproblem with authorities, but once these are removed from legaloversight, and far away, anything really can happen. Just checkwikipedia for Guantanamo, you'll get the idea. The detective coming in out of nowhere eases the tension created andjust continuing with further torture would have made the movie justanother one of the genre. A dark, voyeuristic thrill ride of sorts.Having him fail at rescue makes the movie much more chilling, at apsychological level.Leaving the movie without any definitive ending, if somewhatfrustrating for the viewer with little imagination, is very successfulat letting you feel the agony of indefinite imprisonment. Just thinkabout it, really.

How this has a score of 5.0 on here is beyond a joke. The first 25 minsor so were quite good with an interesting premise but then it just wentcompletely downhill. Everything just seemed completely pointless and isnever really explained. And the ending was, well, I don't know what iswas but it made no sense whatsoever. The acting, music and camera-workwere competent enough but the whole film seemed like it had just beenmade up as they went along. If you're going to make a film, at leaststart by having a point to it, this one didn't. So if you are lookingfor something interesting or exciting then avoid this one like theplague. It left me feeling cheated and quite depressed.
