This review is from: Warehouse 13: Season One (DVD) We watch these dvds over an over again. It comes with three and the only fault I can find is that the packaging separated. It comes in a slender covering case. Inside the case comes the package. There is a cardboard outer with a the printing and the interior is hard plastic holders for each of the three dvds. The plastic has separated from the cardboard making it harder to slip into the case. Only complaint.

This review is from: Warehouse 13: Season One (DVD) An excellent series that allows you to mix reality with fiction. Who know what the US government and other nations have deep in their vaults. Many have been searching for the unusual for centuries...why do we not think they may found some of what we see on these dvds

I loved the show up until the point where the writers added the new"Claudia" character. It went from entertaining action / adventure tosilly comedy with some boring relationship garbage thrown in to make itless interesting.Season 1 was solid until the new character was added, now it's barelywatchable. Syfy should be ashamed, first they air the bore fest that isStargate Universe and now they go and ruin this show.If I was you, I'd watch season one and no more after that. The 3 maincharacters are great though, not annoying at all imo. But all the newfaces have just made it a mess.5/10 for being decent and poor quality at the same time.

The plot of Warehouse 13 is not very convincing to me. It is kindamixes sci-fi with steampunk with B-movie-like effects. Something ismissing. I have no affection with the series, their characters. ButI'll give it a try. The idea of objects with powers is very potential.Let's see how it develops. I love sci-fi shows, bad or good I watchthem from the beginning till the end. I remember my favorite seriesbeing slightly boring in the beginning and slowly growing intocan't-wait-till-the-next-episode shows. I really hope for the show thatit will be one of them. I can imagine creators try to find a key to aviewer's heart and showing several styles. Personally, I would preferthe plot going more steampunk than sci-fi or mystical. That would givea fresh and more original spin. But in that case they should be verycareful with magical-alike powers. In its origins steampunk is purelyscience, nothing paranormal or magical.

This review is from: Warehouse 13: Season One (DVD) I go this TV show on DVD. After renting in from NetFlix. It is a great fun TV show. As I am a Big X Flies fan. I will say I will NOT buy from the seller again. The Disc came in bad shape. Did E the seller two times. No E mail back. I did do some big time work on the disc. They now play..Great fun show. If you are a X Files fan you will love this show.

This review is from: Warehouse 13: Season One (DVD) I received this video promptly and had no issues with the seller. We have been watching it and it plays well as any other dvd we own. I would have no problems with buying from this dealer again.

I liked the series because it was pretty original. It showed goodimagination by the writers and the stories were always interesting. Theonly thing unfortunate about the show was the title. The premise of the show involved people that searched for cursedobjects. Once found, they went into a special vault. The objects alwayshad terrible power over the unfortunate people that they came intocontact with.Where Warehouse 13 seems to differ in that the objects have pedigreesfrom historical people. The Tesla weapon and the Ford electric car areboth indicative of a connection of the objects to historical people. And, in the pilot, Lucrezia Borgia. That is all I'll say in case youmissed the pilot.I think this show has real promise. They don't have to "keep it real"and there is no need to suspend disbelief to enjoy the stories becauseall of it is "impossible". Quotes because we can't truly know what isimpossible.

This review is from: Warehouse 13: Season One (DVD) This was a most unexpected and refreshing show this past season and I just had to have it in our DVD library. I reminds me of Brisco County Jr. and other series full of interesting characters and strange plots. I truely love this series and hope it continues on the air for sometime to come. It is truely entertaining.

A fun show, just about the same pace and feel of Eureka with a bunch ofartifacts linked in together with magical powers (although they claimthat they are scientifically explained). It's just a fun show to watchfrom episode to episode and interesting concepts. They go offhistorical antiques and off of historical figures. The Warehouse has two main agents that go around and hunt downartifacts based on crimes and oddities that happens because of them. The relationship between the two agents are quite nice and sweet butnothing addicting. They are a lighter version of Bones and Boothe onBones.

I watched the pilot and Warehouse 13 has all the elements you wouldwant in a good science fiction series. There is the endless room ofgadgets and trinkets so who knows what they could find. There is astory for each character, with a history that is slowly to be revealed. Its possible to have a new twist every week which is all you ask for.Its well written and the characters are likable. And there is comedyand snappy dialogue to make it a touch edgy. I especially liked theoffer of cookies to come inside the warehouse. The main character, whois a first leery, jumps right at that in a very funny way. If you likedthe X-Files weirdness and Eureka's comedy, this is for you.

Having heard about this series a few times, and then more recently acomparison regarding it and Stargate Universe (re the fact that W13pulled better ratings), I decided to give the pilot episode a viewing. There haven't really been many sci-fi/fantasy shows (ever) that haven'theld my attention and appealed to my nerdy requirements, and whilst Iwas keeping an open mind, I struggled to keep watching the full 90minute double episode. The lead actors (McClintock and Kelly) just didn't quite "do it" forme... they were kind of interesting characters, but ultimately neithermade me passionate to continue. One of the reasons I didn't switch offearly was Raul Subinek, who I've enjoyed since ST:TNG days, but evenhis always interesting portrayal isn't enough to convince me to watchany further. The premise is interesting, though the idea of having a massivewarehouse full of deadly "oddities", yet only 1 person on hand to dealwith them, is absurd. Whilst I'm sure some story arcs develop over theseason, I can see a lot of Reaper-like-repetition ahead, which alsodoesn't interest me.The special effects were also rather disappointing. About on par withReaper or Merlin, which in those shows is acceptable, as they are morecomedy than drama. I don't know if it was deliberate or accidental, butsome shots left my eyes hurting (eg external of the Warehouse). The direct comparison for me would be The Lost Room, which I thinkoffered a lot more promise than this pilot. I felt too much likeLattimer and Bering's characters were being force fed to me, ratherthan a real natural progression. Whereas in Lost Room, everything wasleft that bit more confusing and unanswered; more for the journey.

Warehouse 13 is rather unique. While it does incorporate a certainX-Files-ness, it is in a different category altogether-- one that Ihave never seen. The show focuses on Pete and Myka, and of courseArtie, as they work together to gather artifacts (from a range of timesin history) with dangerous and mysterious properties. The concept isnew to me, and very enjoyable. Still, I feel that the show is sittingon the fence between being about the characters and being about theartifacts. To make it work, I think that they might need to lean to one(most would probably say artifacts). The characters still need more going on, if you ask me. Also, atwelve-year-old could figure out the resolution to the mystery half anhour into an episode. In addition, the show desperately needs a better main theme. I myselfam working on it... but I'm not really an expert on that. Or really ontelevision-- I'd like to clarify that.

I have like the show the last three seasons, but episode two introducesa new homosexual character. I am sick of hearing about nearly every newshow introducing such a character, I have yet in my 24 years of life toactually come across more than three such people. All these shows seemto be ruining it for family's to watch, I do not want my children tosee such things nor hear such things. Of course the way Hollywood playsit off it is normal, but to the average person it is not.. hence why itis illegal still in most states. I really hope we can get back toquality programming and just not mention anything at all about any"politically correct" bull crap.

With spectacular special effects, worthy of the storyline, UniversalCable Productions with Universal Media Studios' ~UMS~, creators',Messrs. Jane Espenson, D. Brent Mote, "Warehouse 13" always leaves meeager for another helping of the next sparkling episode. The dose ofmystery, the misadventures of the youthful Claudia Donovan ~AllisonScagliotti~, the heroes lending their own expertise to solve each casetake us through various characters of American/ world history notunlike the movie "National Treasure: Book of Secrets" ~2004, directorJon Turteltaub, Walt Disney Pictures, Jerry Bruckheimer Films~, thusensuring every episode worthy of much discussion in a History classwith due note to the often satirical references. Definitely familyviewing well on it's way to cult status for fans, like me, of themagical "Twilight Zone" ~1959, creator Rod Serling, Cayuga-CBS,twilight? very nearly, the genius Claudia is a former patient of amental hospital, that says enough about the show, for new viewers~.Don't miss it!

The idea of artifacts with special powers had already been put into asuccessful film - Syfy brilliant miniseries "The Lost Room" in 2006.Fans like myself were thrilled to hear that a new series -warehouse 13-would pick up the idea and develop it into a longer show. and I havebeen following warehouse 13 since then. The series, sadly, disappointed me though. The story has so muchpotential. It could have been a fascinating show, better than law andorder, the x-files, or CSI. However it was done so lamely that Canada'sCityTV dropped it in the second season, and no one even noticed! Thefirst problem is the cast. While the cast of the Lost Room were solid, believable and fully in character, the cast of warehouse 13 are justout of place. Their act is almost comic. It is so hard to take Myka,Pete, Artie and Claudia seriously because they look and act nowherelike what their roles are.The show's poor character development doesn't help either. Allcharacters have too much comical traits to be taken seriously. And theyall are so one-dimensional. This show was supposed to be about thefascinating world of strange historical artifacts with magic powers, and the writers have reduced it to ridiculous comic stories played by agroup of circus clowns. The background stories are not helpful. McPherson's story was the onlyrelevant one, but the stories of Mrs. Fredric, Claudia and H.G. Wellsjust distract the audience.I still watch warehouse 13; just because I loved "the Lost Room", andperhaps because there isn't much more to do on Friday nights (when itis aired in Canada). However I am so disappointed. Such a great story,so much potential, are wasted because of bad writing.

A nice mix of X-files, Fringe, Supernatural and the Carol Burnett Show. The actors seem to share a chemistry and have sufficient depth for aSyfy series to draw me in. The special effects are not overused, considering the subject, and the sprinkling of personal stories add to,rather than subtract from the overall storyline. I call it a success, and eagerly anticipate the second season. I have not bought anyTelevision series on DVD, but this one does tempt, does it not? X-filesit's not, but neither does it take itself so seriously, for which Igive it a hearty thumbs-up! Enjoy, and next time, you bring thepopcorn!

I picked this box set up "blind" based on a few things I had read about it hoping I would enjoy it. And enjoy it I did! If you are a X-Files, BSG, Fringe type fan you will like this. Its not over complex, its completely "believable", the characters are rich enough to the point where people will identify with at least one of them. I can't wait for season 2.

This review is from: Warehouse 13: Season One (DVD) I don't want to get overly intellectual about this. The bottom line is that Warehouse is an entertaining show which keeps me interested and my mind engaged. Yes, Pete can be a bit of a bonehead, but he has other strengths which make him a good agent. Also, I agree that there doesn't have to be sexual charisma between Pete and Myka. A lot of people work together as partners and are purely professional or just platonic friends. I find it refreshing that they DON'T do the whole predictable "Moonlighting"/"XFiles" sexual tension thing. This is one of the two best shows on Syfy and I recommend it.

I watched the first of this series based on positive reviews of other consumers. Visually, it's very appealing: attractive cast, fascinating sets, interesting premise, good special effects. How frustrating that the plots were so BORING and the characters so 2-dimensional. Why is it, even now in the 21st century, that script writers still think a "strong' woman is one who has little sense of humor, is aggressively in-your-face with men while at the same time dressing like date bait, and is secretly longing to put a relationship in front of a brilliant career? The women are offensive stereotypes--but so are the men. The male lead is such a typical Peter Pan whose tongue hangs out when he sees an attractive woman, is condescending, patronizing ("I should take point--I should be the team leader!), and predictable. Who needs to watch another narcissistic male act out his fantasies? The plots are dull and the conclusions are pathetic. Don't waste your time or you money on this one!
